Richard (Dick) Carlson

If you ask Mr. Carlson how much the industry has changed in his career, you'd better be ready for a long conversation.  In Dick's 30 years working with the County Department of Environmental Health, he's seen a lot.  Ask him where things are going in the area of cross connection control and recycled water in the future, and you had better be ready for another fascinating conversation.  Dick is currently dealing with the amazing variety of regulation of recycled water and post meter cross-connection control issues in San Diego County.  

Dick has a BA in Zoology with a chemistry minor and an MS in Microbiology.  He is a Registered Environmental Health Specialist, certified Cross-Connection Control Specialist, and a Grade 2 certified Distribution Operator.

As a retired Naval Reserve Captain, Special Operations, Dick knows how to relax -  he jogs and works out regularly!  He also enjoys British mystery novels washed down with a good micro brew.
