Graphics That Look Different

Why Do My Graphic's Look So Different???
The PNG format is not supported across platforms and browsers yet.
Only use JPG or GIF formats for your images.

The orange text represents the format for that image group.

The PNG format is not supported fully in Internet Explorer 6.0.  You can see the transparency color displayed as gray which makes it impossible to see two of the extensions.   Netscape 6.02 has better support for the PNG format.  It looks very similar to the GIF format in quality but the file is much larger.

When saving your images in Fireworks you must FILE > EXPORT PREVIEW to save your file as a JPG or GIF.  I always recommend creating a PNG file in addition to your GIF's and JPG's for all graphics that will need to be edited in the future or duplicated in anyway for site consistency.  The PNG format is the only editable (edit frames and layers, attributes) format in Fireworks.  The JPG or GIF would be a flattened format to work with in Fireworks.

When you see the movie icon next to a question, click it to view a narrated Video Tutorial.  You'll need a high-speed connection or plenty of time to view these large files.  You'll also need the  Windows Media Format plug-in if you don't already have it.  You can also right click the icon and "Save Target As" to download the file.
