Text Box: Annual Implementation Construction is not the only thing moving forward at Cuyamaca College!  The Innovation &  Planning Council (IPC) is relentless in moving forward.  What did IPC accomplish?  Well...   ü The 2005-2006 Annual Implementation Plan was completed   ü The 2006-2007 Annual Implementation Plan was approved   ü Endorsed the college’s new Mission statement   ü Sanctioned the Academic Master Plan Hiring Recommendations   ü Reviewed several Board Policies and Administrative Procedures   ü Conducted a brainstorming session to assist in the development of “The Cuyamaca Way”   ü Approved the new Student Development & Services Program Review Plan Text Box: Accreditation Update The Accreditation site visit is fast approaching and is scheduled for October 2007.  Drafts of each Accreditation Standard have been reviewed, revised, and rewritten again and again.  The process continues to advance and excitement is mounting as the self-study and documentation  gathering phases progress and validate the many wonderful things that we all know make this college so unique and special.  Each Standard Chair and Co-Chair participated in the President’s Open Forum on Accreditation that was presented on Wednesday, January 17th during the Spring ‘07 Professional Development Week. Text Box: Governance Structures Handbook.  Every detail of the Handbook was reviewed and revisions were made to update the document.    The revised Handbook was presented at the Professional Development Workshop entitled “Shared Governance: General Principles & Shared Governance Structures,” by Dr. Perri and Academic Senate President Jan Ford on Tuesday, January 16th as part of Professional Development Week.   Organizational & Governance Structure Changes… The following committee/council changes were approved by IPC:   Change:  Staff Development to Professional Development Committee. New:  Late-Add Class Petition Review Committee.  

Philosophy:  Leadership through vision is the foundation for the planning and policy-making process at Cuyamaca College.  The college engages all its members to ensure broad-based participation in campus decision-making.  This process assures that the college remains dynamic, futuristic and effective in meeting the educational needs of its community.

 

Overview of the Process:  The Innovation and Planning Council is the recognized shared governance structure for the college.  The Council will evolve, amend and guide the planning and policy-making process for the college.

 

The college’s planning process provides a focus to mobilize and allocate its human, fiscal, technical and physical resources.  The college’s initiatives, both long-term and short-term, are defined, implemented, continuously reviewed, assessed, and updated to respond to the ever-changing needs of the student population and the demands of the external and internal environments.  A three-year planning cycle is used to implement the Cuyamaca College Strategic Plan and the District Strategic Plan.  An annual Implementation Plan is developed by the Council using the Strategic Plan.

 

The college’s policy-making process provides a constituency review of all campus policies and committee structures.
