As President of Cuyamaca College, let me be the first to welcome you to our
College. At Cuyamaca College you will find faculty and staff who are personally committed to academic
excellence and passionately dedicated to ensuring that you meet your educational goals. We offer a wide variety of occupational, transfer and
general education programs, and have over 700 classes for you to choose. In addition to regular course offerings, we provide alternative and
innovative ways to help you access classes and complete your education, including Saturday courses, online courses and short-term classes.
With
nearly 9,000 students, Cuyamaca College is one of the fastest growing
community colleges in the San Diego Region. The college has nearly 100
dedicated full-time faculty and administrators, and over 100 caring and
supportive staff members. We currently offer 59 associate degree
programs and 66 certificates. In addition to providing our students
with an array of in-demand occupational and pre-professional programs,
Cuyamaca College has been very successful in preparing students for
transfer to both the California State University (CSU) and University of
California (UC) systems, as well as to many private colleges and
universities.
Cuyamaca College has recently opened several new state-of-the art and
award-winning buildings. The new Science and Technology Center provides
students with the most up-to-date technologies and further establishes
Cuyamaca College as the “Gateway to Health Professions and
Biotechnology”. Additionally, Cuyamaca College celebrated the grand
opening of its architectural award-winning Student Center, and the
spectacular Communication Arts Center. These new and welcomed additions
will greatly expand the range of instructional programs and student
support services that our students have come to enjoy and expect at
Cuyamaca College. Additionally, our students not only enjoy the benefits
of learning in these new state-of-the-art facilities, but do so while
attending classes on one the most beautiful college campuses in the
state. Nearly 30% of the college campus is a protected nature
preserve! In addition to the nature preserve, students attending
Cuyamaca College also enjoy spending time at the Heritage of the
Americas Museum and the very popular Water Conservation Garden, both
located on the college’s grounds.
Cuyamaca College has a reputation of providing the highest quality of
services to our students and neighboring communities. Your success is
critically important to us and we will do all we can to help you achieve
your educational goals. You are strongly encouraged to seek the
assistance of one of our very friendly and always available counselors
to develop your Educational Development Plan. Our counselors will assist
you to plan your courses carefully, meet your assigned registration
dates and academic year timelines, and provide you with tips on how to
study and complete your assignments in a timely, efficient and
productive manner.
Thank
you for allowing Cuyamaca College to help you on your path to academic
and professional success. On behalf of all the faculty and staff of
Cuyamaca College, I would like to express our best wishes for a
successful semester and future!
Sincerely,

Geraldine M. Perri, Ph.D.
