Innovative Courses & Programs

The department of Computer and Information Science offers courses in Network Administration, Web Development, Computer Science and Structured Wiring. Our innovative certificate and degree programs can help you advance your career.

We believe in hands-on learning in state-of-the art computer labs with small class sizes so each student gets a computer and plenty of support. Our practical courses offer useful skills for the workplace. We offer online courses for students who prefer to learn from home.

    CIS Building

  • It pays to be a computer geek!  The job outlook is hot, with employment growth of more than 50% expected in the coming years for CIS jobs.  Web Development is also picking up. We've had quite a few employers contacting us for interns with skills in HTML, ASP, PHP, and/or Flash.  See brief presentation for details.
  • Experience is crucial for getting that first job.  Our Work Experience Program helps students get the experience and contacts they need to launch a career.
  • CIS 198 open lab hours have been posted!
  • The Institute for Telecommunications Technologies is working hard to bring you world-class education programs. The recruitment effort is in full swing, tutoring and counseling services have begun and we have created a Women in Technology Club which has many supportive and informative activities planned.
  • MSDNAA - CIS students can purchase or download CD-ROM's of popular Microsoft Software for installation and use on their home computer as part of the Microsoft Developer's Network Academic Alliance (MSDNAA).  Fully licensed software titles include Windows Vista and XP Pro, Access 2007, Visio 2007, and Visual Studio 2005 plus other titles.
