Welcome to Cuyamaca College and to my Personal Development 124 Online Course Website.  

I am a professional counselor and an instructor with substantial experience in academic, career, and personal counseling of high school and college students.  I am highly skilled in dealing with complex issues facing students of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, as well as those at academic risk. I enjoy teaching and it is one of my passions. I have been teaching this course for the past seven years.  My current counseling and instructor positions at Cuyamaca College have prepared me for the responsibilities and challenges of being an Online instructor.   

Some of you may wonder what you will learn in a college success course or PDC 124.  According to Cuyamaca College catalog description, students who take this course will be able to: 1) Apply physiological, social and psychological principles to success in college, the world of work and life, 2) Explore personality, interests and values to increase self-understanding and select an appropriate major and career, 3) Learn about careers of the future, 4) Discover strategies for lifelong learning by identifying your learning style and applying psychological principles of learning and memory to academic study strategies, 5)Apply life management techniques such as time and money management to accomplish personal goals, 6)  Examine adult stages of development and develop a plan for wellness and living a long and healthy life, 7)  Learn strategies for motivation and stress management, 8) Practice creative and critical thinking techniques. This course is designed as a transfer course to the CSUC to meet the requirement for Area E: Lifelong Understanding and Self-Development.  


This course is open to all types of students who seek personal, academic and professional growth in their lives.  I am very confident that you will find this course to be highly enjoyable and rewarding.  I looking forward to another exciting and new semester to serve my students and learn from them at the same time.
