Academic Advising is important for all students who plan to complete a Certificate of Achievement, Associate degree, or transfer to a university.

New Students - New students must participate in an English and math Assessment and a New Student Advising session.  During the New Student Advising session, students can expect to formulate a first semester education plan and receive assistance in understanding the registration process. The Education Plan can also be used for Financial Aid planning.  Each Advising Session is 1.5 - 2 hours with a counselor.

Continuing Students - You can make an appointment with a counselor to discuss your goals, and develop an academic plan.  During high demand periods, (usually registration), the Counseling Department offers small group advising sessions for continuing students.  Call 619-660-4429 for an appointment.
