Academic Advising is important for all
students who plan to complete a Certificate of Achievement, Associate
degree, or transfer to a university.
New Students
- New students must participate in an
English and math
Assessment and a New Student Advising session.
During the New Student Advising session, students can expect to formulate a first
semester education plan and receive assistance in understanding the
registration process. The Education Plan can also be used for Financial
Aid planning. Each Advising Session is 1.5 - 2 hours with a
counselor.
Continuing Students - You can make an
appointment with a counselor to discuss your goals, and develop an academic plan.
During high demand periods, (usually registration), the Counseling
Department offers small group advising sessions for continuing students. Call 619-660-4429 for an
appointment.
The process of educational planning and
course selection can be confusing. That is why is it very
important to have access to the tools necessary to make well informed
decisions.
