- Promoting the physical and mental well-being of Cuyamaca College students is the goal of
the Health and Wellness Center. Services available on a confidential basis through the
nurse directed center include first aid, urgent and self-help care; vision, blood
pressure, body fat and glucose screening; illness assessment; community referrals; and TB
clearance testing. The Center is also a health education resource, and nutrition and
substance abuse guidance are available. Information concerning the college's Drug Policy,
the policy on Life-Threatening Illnesses, the blood donation reserve fund and Student
Insurance is also available at the Health & Wellness Center.
- The mandatory health fee provides for insurance coverage should a student be injured
during a supervised, on-campus, or school related activity. Report all accidents and
injuries to the health and Wellness Office. A $50 deductible will apply to each athletic
claim filed. This student insurance is secondary to any group, noneet franchise, group
practice, individual practice or other pre-payment coverage, which means the claim must be
filed with primary insurance first.
- Introductory paragraph: e.g., "Hello and welcome! We are very glad that you are
interested in Cuyamaca College. By now you probably already know a few things about us,
but perhaps not everything you need to know about the (name) department. What follows are
answers to a few of our most frequently asked questions. For more information feel free to
call us or drop by for a personal visit."
- For information about academic programs and other activities and services, consult the College
Catalog.
