The Violin Player Raccoon             Temperamental Mood of Music 110

"Music training is a more potent instrument than any other, because rhythm and harmony find their way into the inward places of the soul."

Music 110 on PC computers is a kind of temperamental program. Sometimes you can start fast and easy and sometimes becomes difficult to start. Sometimes you can switch from a CD to another one without any problem and sometimes it doesn't allow you to continue. To avoid this temperamental mood at different stages of the program please follow the following steps:

At Startup
  1. Before starting the program, make sure the CD player is NOT active, and that there is no CD in the drive.
  2. Without inserting any CD, start the program.
  3. Wait for the program to tell you which CD to put in before putting any CD in.
  4. After inserting the audio CD wait a few seconds - until the cursor turns into an hourglass and then resumes its normal shape - before clicking on the icon to play the excerpt. (CD-ROM drives are often rather slow, and if the user clicks on the icon right after inserting the CD but before the drive has recognized it, the program will eject the CD and ask for it again.)
  5. If still program does not recognize CD, eject the CD using the shortcuts to CD player in task bar and try again.
  6. If program still refuses to recognize the CD, quit the program fully, then try again.
  7. If the problem still persists, log out and start from the scratch.

When Switching CDs

When you quit the chapter you are working on, the CD should eject itself.

If the CD is ejected by the program:

  • Take the CD but don't replace it with another CD until you are told to put a CD in.

If the CD is not ejected by the program:

  • Most probably you cannot continue since the program is not in the right mood! The best solution in this case is to reboot. When rebooting, make sure the CD drive is NOT open.
