Creating an MLA Works Cited page

When you write a paper using information from books, articles, or web sites, you must properly cite them. In other words you must use a standardized format to indicate exactly where you found this information.

Citations ensure fairness, honesty, and completeness.  Fortunately, there are a number of style guides available to researchers, including MLA style, created by the Modern Language Association.

This guide is designed to offer an introduction to the basics of MLA style.  Of course, more in-depth information on MLA style may be found in the MLA Handbook, located in the general stacks under the call number LB 2369 G52, as well as on the Reference shelves under Ref LB 2369 G52.
