Final Speech

This should be your best speaking effort.  Be sure all essential elements are in play.

  • Good delivery (eye contact, use of notes, stance etc)
     

  • Writing (expressive and clear)
     

  • Content and Structure

=>Introduction:  Does the speech have an introduction (grab people's attention, introduce the topic, focus the listener)

=>Body (points of interest, flow between the points, example or stories)

=>Conclusion (draw to an end and summarize)

Your final speech can be:

  • A speech of tribute

  • A eulogy

  • An award presentation for a fictional award and person

  • A toast

  • An acceptance speech for a fictional award

  • An inspirational speech

  • An after-dinner speech to entertain

Other Points to Remember

  • You do not need to turn in an outline, but you should have one available for your own use.

  • Your speech should be 4-6 minutes long (timed as before).

  • You will receive a verbal peer review.

  • We will have a mini class award ceremony for most improved, funniest or most inspirational, and best speakers.
