I am currently Educational Programmer at the San Diego Supercomputer Center on the UCSD campus. I work to promote the use of cyberinfrastructure within the K-12 and undergraduate education community through workshops, training, and curriculum development in collaboration with a talented group of co-workers and educators. Prior to that, I spent five years as Staff Scientist with the Education Center on Computational Science and Engineering, where I helped direct work on the incorporation of high-performance computing into the undergraduate curriculum, including modeling, simulations, visualization and data-intensive computing. I have also served as multimedia and web support specialist for San Diego State University's College of Sciences where I helped train faculty on multimedia and web development. Prior to this, I served as Director of the Risley Hall Learning Center at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California. What I really enjoy is creating interactive modules that help display information in novel ways, or creating interactive animations that help teach a complex concept in science. Here are some examples of my work in Flash, Director, and other tools: Cardiac Ischemia (2001, Flash 5) Interactive Image Morph of San Diego County Land Use (2003, Director 8.5) (Note: this is a 25 Mb download, so be patient) Tijuana River Watershed Image Atlas (2004, Flash MX 2004, PHP, and MySQL) Plankton Biomass Data Correlated with El Nino Southern Oscillation Index (2005, Director MX) Flash and Yahoo Mapping for Water Quality Management and Education (2006, Flash 8, Yahoo Maps API, PHP, and MySQL)
