This Fall, GD 222 will be offered online. We'll use Adobe Flash CS3 to create animations, banner ads, cartoons, and Web interfaces. Those of you who have Flash 8 or even Flash MX 2004 should be OK. I check e-mail fairly regularly, so let me know if you have any questions.
I will update the syllabus and schedule regularly, so please don't do any assignments early unless you check with me first. If you want to get started early:
- be sure you have convenient and reliable access to Flash
- send me an email
- login to Blackboard, read announcement, do assignments
- get your books and start reading, learning, and creating!

Upcoming Conferences
Adobe FlashForward Conference, Boston, MA, Sept. 19-21, 2007
This is the largest Flash user conference in the world. I will not be able to attend, but I will try to post related events of interest as they occur.
Some of you may already be familiar with John Maeda's work, but many may not. He does some very interesting, very simple, interactive widgets. He seems to have a sufficient understanding of enough prototyping tools like Flash and PHP that he just creates these little 'ditties' of design simplicity. Honestly, some of them aren't that interesting (don't tell anyone I said that), but alot of them are, and there are so many! Check out his work at the following links:
