OSHA 40- Hour Hazwoper (1445)

Fee: $325.00

This 40 hour course provides Federal and State certification for those who work with hazardous waste for management operations, emergency response team or trainers, and site clean up. This course satisfies the requirements for generalized employee training under the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) 1910.120 and State of California Regulations 5192 Title 8.

OSHA 8-Hour Refresher Federal and CalOSHA Standards (1285)

Fee: $75.00

This 8-hour Hazardous Waste Operator and Emergency Response (Hazwoper) course is designed to maintain the 40-hour or 24-hour Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Annual Certificate required for employees in the public or private sector, large or small businesses, who work with hazardous waste in any place from management operations to on-site clean-up. This course includes lectures, table top exercises, and hands-on activities. A certificate will be issued upon full completion of the class.

Solar Photovoltaic Instillation (1570)

Fee: $849 (includes book and parking permit)

Solar Photovoltaic energy systems convert the sun's rays directly into electricity. Generally speaking, rooftop panels produce electric for a residence or commercial building, with excess energy flowing into the electrical grid. Free Energy Efficiency Workshop (1375)

Join Cuyamaca College and SDG&E for a free energy efficiency workshop to be held at Cuyamaca College. We will be offering a class on how to "Keep it Green in Your Small Business". This workshop will be taught by David Wylie, who has developed more than 20 courses addressing energy-efficient systems. This is a free workshop and space is limited, so register early.

Department of Transportation (DOT)/ Hazardous Materials Regulations (1325)

Fee: $75.00

This course covers the Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) governing the transportation of hazardous substance. This course fulfills the DOT 49 CFR Hazardous Materials Transportation awareness training required by DOT and includes: using a hazardous materials table, preparing shipping papers, marking labeling and placard requirements, security awareness and site policies, handling emergencies and notification and identification and communication of hazards of transportation.

Back Flow Tester AWWA Preparation Course (1200)

Fee: $600 (book separate)

This 48 hour course prepares students for the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and the American Backflow Prevention Association (ABPA) certification for Backflow prevention assembly tester certification. Course includes the backflow device instillation and testing procedures required for the certification testing. This class doesn't require a prerequisite.

Smog Check Program-2011 Update Training Course (16 hour) (1055)

Fee: $295

The Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) requires all licensed Smog Check technicians whose LICENSE EXPIRES AFTER JANUARY 1, 2011 to complete the "2011 Update Training Course" prior to renewing their license.  

You must bring a picture ID and Smog License # (if you have a license) to class.

Green Building Partnership: Intro to Green Building Careers (1625)

Fee: Free to eligible participants within San Diego County. Please visit www.cuyamaca.edu\preview\greenbuilding for eligibility steps and to register for an information orientation.

This is an introductory course designed to provide students with a basic overview of “green” construction occupations. This 120-hour program includes basic construction principals, environmental training, introduction to green building, energy fundamentals, energy retrofits & efficiency, water efficient buildings and retrofits, solar & hot water installation & design, solar electricity installation & design, work readiness and hands on work experience.

You must attend a mandatory orientation on 4/25/12 from 9:00-11:00am OR 4/26/12 5:30-7:30pm. Located at Cuyamaca College, Room L-101.

CA Advanced Lighting Controls- CALCTP (1640)

Fee: $1250

This 50-hour training program will better position CA licensed electricians with the experience, expertise and confidence to complete advanced lighting controls projects in commercial buildings.  By becoming CALCTP certified, you are more qualified to compete for and win these types of projects. CALCTP provides a step-by-step approach to understand, apply and install commercial lighting control strategies, fluorescent lamps and ballasts, line and low voltage controls, dimming systems, occupancy, sensors, photo sensors, advanced lighting control systems, installation/writing requirements, acceptance testing, codes and standards, commissioning requirements, and CA Title 24 requirements.

Hazardous Materials Technician Certificate Program (1655)

Fee: $1450

This entry level certificate program is designed to provide students interested in a career in the environmental health and safety field with the basic training required to work as a Hazardous Materials Technician. Course material includes topics such as hazardous materials and basic CPR & first aid. Students will be introduced to relevant laws and regulations, participate in hands-on activities, and learn from professionals currently working in the field.

Earn the following certificates:

Courtroom Technology- Beginning (1440)

This class will be held in a state of the art computer lab and will feature hands-on training with TrialDirector. The focus will be on basic techniques for an efficient and cost effective presentation of evidence at trial in a manner that allows the jury to retain more information and follow your case more closely. A more advanced class will follow after students have had a chance to master the basics of each program.  This class has been approved for 4 hours of MCLE credit through the Foothills Bar Association and is geared towards attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and anyone interested in the legal profession.
