Cowles Mountain Exploration

Cowles Mountain Trail Head (Navajo and Golfcrest)

During this three-mile hike up Cowles Mountain, we will practice stress reduction techniques that you can share with students.  We will begin with a brief discussion of mindfulness practices and other stress reduction strategies. This workshop is for any administrative, faculty, or staff personnel who plan to hire and supervise financial aid work-study students for the 2008-2009 Academic Year and have not previously attended this workshop. Participants will learn the program guidelines and procedures. Work-study students WILL NOT be allowed to begin their work-study assignment until supervisor who intend to hire them has attended this workshop. This workshop will give you the information you need to get started on the course “Teaching with Blackboard.”  “Teaching with Blackboard” is a self-paced online course that will take you step-by-step through the basics of building an online course in Blackboard. This will be an intensive, fully online course which is the approximate equivalent of a one-unit course.
