Work-Study Workshop for Supervisors Presenter(s): Carrie Valdez This workshop is for any administrative, faculty, or staff personnel who plan to hire and supervise financial aid work-study students for the 2008-2009 Academic Year and have not previously attended this workshop. Participants will learn the program guidelines and procedures. Work-study students WILL NOT be allowed to begin their work-study assignment until supervisor who intend to hire them has attended this workshop. Orientation to The Online Course “Teaching with Blackboard” Presenter(s): Rhonda Bauerlein This workshop will give you the information you need to get started on the course “Teaching with Blackboard.” Teaching with Blackboard is a self-paced online course that will take you step-by-step through the basics of building an online course in Blackboard. This will be an intensive, fully online course which is the approximate equivalent of a one-unit course. Communication Arts Forum for Teaching Excellence Presenter(s): Timothy L. Pagaard Our most valuable asset at Cuyamaca College is our constellation of innovative teachers, both full- and part-time. And our best vehicle for nurturing effectiveness in the classroom is the sharing of ideas. Semester after semester, our open forum has been a huge success. We offer it again this time. Our primary focus will be on pedagogical strategies in the communication arts, but anyone is welcome who is anxious to teach writing and reading better. Come prepared to share your best discoveries.
