  Fundamentals:

• Select scholarships that optimize your strengths (GPA, Major, Financial Need, Community/College Envolvment, Gender, Minority etc...).
• Use ALL The Tools In Your Tool Kit: Computer, Internet, College Writting Assistance Centers, College Faculty and Counselors, and Staff.
• Be selective, limit the number of scholarships appied for during a 30 day period. 
• Select scholarships with due dates 60-90 days into the future.

• Fill-out Each Scholarship Application Completely, all spaces should be Filled in  (Even if it is with an N/A, None, or Dashed Lines).

• Select references who are willing to be strong allies; provide each reference with enough information about youself, the scholarship, and any details that the reference may request to complete your reference letter.
• Apply for Scholarships Regardless of Your Previous Experiences.
