Buying Course Materials for PSY 120 Online
WARNING: This course requires a bundle with three required components: 1) the textbook, 2) the DVD, and 3) the WebTutor Access Code (called a "Course Cartridge" in Blackb`oard). If you do not have these three components, you will not be able to complete assignments in the course. Our campus bookstore bundle has all three, but if you plan on buying used materials or other options, please read the information below - carefully and completely. Note that the bookstore price for the bundle is usually less expensive that buying both components separately. Note also that the ISBN listed on my site and on the orientation handout is for the bundle - which is different than individual components purchased separately.
1) Textbook:
You can buy the textbook used either online or from the bookstore (you can also rent, borrow, or share textbooks), but it will not have the bundled materials. It will be necessary to obtain the DVD and WebTutor Access Code separately (see 2 and 3 below).
If you buy an older edition of the textbook (our course uses the 9th edition - 2011), realize that some information has changed and you not have some information for some assignments and for some test questions in the course.

2) PowerStudy DVD:
You can buy a used PowerStudy DVD online, for example Amazon, Craig's List (or share another students copy), but if you buy an older version of PowerStudy (our course uses version 4.5), realize that some information has changed and you will be lost in some sections of the course and not have correct information for some test questions.
3) WebTutor Access Code (called a "Course Cartridge" in Blackboard):
This is code is necessary because the course uses additional publisher content within Blackboard. You will not be able to access some required assignments and material if you do not have this code. The code only works for one student for one semester - there is no such thing as a used copy, nor can you use someone's else's code (from this semester or past semesters). A new text bundle will include the code. Otherwise, you can purchase the code separately. Note that "WebTutor" is different than "WebTutor Toolbox."
