Buying Course Materials for PSY 170 Online
NOTE: This course includes two components: 1) the textbook and 2) a WebTutor Access Code (called a "Course Cartridge" in Blackboard). If you do not have these two components, you will not be able to access all parts of the course within Blackboard. Our campus bookstore has a bundle with both components for a reduced price, but if you plan on buying from other sources please read the information below - carefully and completely. Note that the bookstore price for the bundle is usually less expensive that buying both components separately. Note also that the ISBN listed on my site and on the orientation handout is for the bundle - which is different than individual components purchased separately.
1) Textbook:
Make sure you have the correct text (see main course page on this site). Here is the publisher's site for their online purchase: Cengage Brain. You can buy a used textbook, rent a textbook online, borrow a friend's, etc., but these will not the bundled with the WebTutor access code. It will be necessary to buy the WebTutor Access Code separately (see below). Also, note that some Mac students have had difficulty with eBook only access, so be aware of this if you choose this as your only text source.

2) WebTutor Access Code (called a "Course Cartridge" in Blackboard):
This is code is necessary to use additional publisher content that will become available within Blackboard (eBook, videos, PowerPoints, chapter summaries, study tools, etc). The code only works for one student for one semester - there is no used copy. A new text bundle (note bundle) will include this code. You may have to contact Cengage Tech Support to integrate this into Blackboard (Cengage Tech Support: 1-800-423-0563) if you buy it as a separate, non-bundled item.
